Totonun mesen aw

A young salesman for a major office equipment company, had aspirations of becoming the company's top salesman in the region.

He worked hard for over a year, making more daily sales calls than any other salesman in the region, but he just wasn't making the sales necessary to elevate him above the middle of the pack.

One day he was having a beer with a friend and was telling his friend of his problem.  “No matter how much studying I do in proper sales presentations, and no matter how many people I see, I just can't seem to close many sales”.  His friend, who had grown up in the Pacific islands of Micronesia, asked him if he had ever heard of Nopuko Barker, or “Big Mama” as she was known on his island.  The young man answered that he had never heard of her.  His friend suggested that he email Nopuko, tell her of his problem and ask if she could help him.  The young salesman, figuring he had nothing to lose, emailed Nopuko that night.

Nopuko answered back the next day.  She told him that, yes, she could help him.  She told him that she has a secret potion, known in her language as totonun mesen aw, and that this potion, when applied correctly, would cause anyone he spoke to, to listen to and believe whatever he had to say.  Nopuko told him that by using the potion, potential clients would be convinced by his sales presentation and would buy from him.  She told him that the potion would work in other ways -- if her were trying to talk with girls, for example.

The young man sent her the $500.00 that Nopuko charges for the potion.  He used it for a month and saw his successful sales rate grow.  He continued using the potion and his sales continue to grow.  Today the once-aspiring salsman is a regional sales manager - his aspirations have been realized thanks to the help he received from Big Mama.
